Had it a couple of months now, but got some pics yesterday.

It's a 3" (I think) Japcan Stainless Steel Backbox/Muffler.

ok... i know that backboxes produce great sounds... but does anyone know if there are any performance gains in getting one?

Yes there is a little bit... depending on car and maker of muffler. It restricts alot less, but for the most its all for sound and image.
