What size headers bolts should I get?

Post by Brian5475E »

I'm getting ready to put the header on the Aveo, I need to know what the hole and thread size the 1.6 has. I really don't have time to pull the stud out rightnow. Just seeing if someone knew, because I need shorter studs for the header. Thanks

Thanks I already found out. I bought some nice allen head bolts for the header. couldn't find studs the right lenth, plus the Black allen heads look better and won't rust like a stud

allen head bolts can be a pain to tighten around headers, and keep tight

Yes they are made for a motorcycle exhaust, I have a allen socket so no problem tightening them. I will take pics when I have it on. I just wrapped it today and put the 2nd o2 bung in it. I just took the anti fouler trick put 2 together then welded them to the header and covered with header paint. Have to wait for the wrap to dry completely to paint the wrap. I scheduled lift time at a place that lets you rent work space for friday. I will take pics. I'm just putting it on, and gonna have my brother do the rest of the exhaust at carX where he works. I think I'm gonna have to use a better muffler. I only have a magnaflow round straight through muffler and a glass pack on it now. When I remove the cat I think it may be too loud.
