Daewoo Cielo engine swap

Post by astro_boy »

Hello, quick question,
98 Daewoo cielo. thats the engine it has now, Im after a 2.lt DOHC, direct swap with the option to turbo later, naturally aspirated Im after around 120-150kw, after I do a full rebuild of internals and a turbo conversion running around 15psi id like to be up in the 220kw ATW.
this is a daewoo cielo not lanos I dont know if any of there stuff is interchangeable, (either way the lanos has a crappy 1.5 too,)
I have been looking for this conversion for so long I was even going to do a Nissan SR20DET conversion, but with new engine mounts and EVERYthing would have cost me about 14,000 and thats just to much.
any engines, recomendations??
thanks

if that is your ame then cut through the bull$hit and swap in a C20LET, only problem is to find one in the land down under as i think those babys are available in europe. you can still go for a C20XE but it will be another session of big hussle to turbo it.

BTW the cielo and lanos are the same when it comes to engine mounts and tranny setup

ummm ok I have lookef up the C20LET what type of power do these things have standard?
would i need a new grear box to run this thing (I already have a super heavy duty clutch so that shouldnt be a problem)can you please tell me whats the difference between these engines and if these are them, because if they are...not only are they dirt cheap but there REALLY easy to get in OZ, there in a holden calibra!

These engine are so easy to get in oz, is this a direct conversion, ie no new engine mounts and all that, can I fit the 6 speed gear box that comes with these in OZ, (Im very exited)!! :D :D
Thanks

thats the one... not sure about the engine output but it is over 170HP or so... a stronger tranny is a ggod idea... get an F20 to handle the extra torque.
