Engine in European Chevrolet Lacetti?

Hi Guys,
I was just wondering what the engine was in my European Chevrolet Lacetti 1.8 ltr?
I was wondering if it was a X18XE or a Z18XE or a C18XE?

Any help would be appreciated!

That's not a Chevrolet/Daewoo ident.

Yes. That is opel's ident. T18SED... I think that is... But not very same to T18SED...

Yeah Guys,
Its a T18SED, I was thinking of Vauxhall (Opel) Engines, when I asked! Are any of the Vauxhall Parts Interchangable with the Chevy (Daewoo) Engine?

Yes.... the 1.8L is simply a destroked X20XEV.... so you should be able to find a billion upgrades for it.

That helps me alot! Another question I have is what is destroking? I know the X20XEV is a 2ltr, but I have a 1.8 ltr. I take it it is a differnt header or manifold or piston or cams or something?

I'm not very technically minded when it comes to Engines!

stroaking/destroaking is the term used to discribe same engines with different crank shaft and connecting rods specs.

for example the 1350cc and 1498cc lanos engines are practically the same engine, only difference is that the 1498cc engine got shorter connecting rods and a crank shaft with bigger travel.

the bigger travel crank shaft will make the stroak longer as the pistons move further past the 1350's TDC and BDC, the shorter connecting rods are used to keep the compression ratio at the correct level (9.5:1) on both engines) and to keep the pistons clear from the valves.

a stroaking job in my opinion is the "easy shortcut" to an enigine swap, if you got a 1.8 you can just get the crank shaft and connecting rods off a 2.0 engine and BAM!... you have a 2.0 engine.

you might need bigger injectors to compansiate for the larger displacment you gained, you only need to check the injectors on the 2.0 and see if they are with a different colar color or not.

The only other question I would ask on this is:- Does the ECU need to be modified or rewritten to run the 2.0 ltr instead of the 1.8 ltr, if I were to install the 2.0ltr parts?

not really... an injector swap (if you actually need it) will do the job.

when we swapped in the 2.0 into the 1.6 Nubira we used the 1.6 ECU and the engine ran just fine... we swapped the 1.6 ECU with the 2.0 ECU just to see if it is any different and their was no change to how the engine performed whatsoever.

as i said the only thing you need to check is the enjectors... if the ones on the 2.0 is different than yours then you should get them.

doesn't those engines - the X series - run at 10.5:1 compression ratio or so?? will that require a piston swap as well??

Final question I have is:- Are the European 1.8 ltr Engines the same as the U.S. 2.0 ltr Engines, except for the the things mentioned above? I mean, are the parts generic, except the parts that make it a 1.8 or 2.0 ltr?

they prolly hae a different crank shaft. you cant have a larger displacement engine with out changing other things inside it as well

as far as i know the only difference will be the crank shaft and rods, the 2.0 got bigger travel crank shaft and shorter connecting rods.
