Improving mpg

Post by tvent »

I've got a 05' Chevy Aveo Special Value, manual transmission hatchback. Just wondering if people have done any mods for improving mpg on their Aveo or Daewoo?

fuel consimption is directly related to your driving style... if you are a lead footed driver like me then their is nothing anyone can do for you, my fuel consumption is as high as a 2.0 car driven by a conservative guy.

"lead foot"............................. so thats why my gas mileage didn't improve after a k&n air filter didn't help (i had gotten mad no imp[rivement and called K&N and told them to take their a.f. and shove it where the sun don't shine, they sent me a full refund and a card with coupons in it).lol

in your case you should have felt more power... that what happened to me when i removed the resonator then installed a cone filter.

lead footed drivers feel better performance, conservatives feel better mpg.

I'm not sure the Aveo has a fuel filter.

well..... you could purchase an Astra VXR "Accelerator Pedal Retarding Intervention Lump"

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topi ... 3&t=256919

This should make for significantly better gas mileage on your Aveo.... of course if the Astra goes from 0-60 in 14 seconds while using this I'd bet your Aveo would take oh I don't know.... a minute and a half

Ya..... I think Vauxhall thought it was stupid as well..... but people over there normally drive Astra's with tiny 1.4L and 1.6L engines.

To me it would be like buying a Subaru STi and detuning it so that it has the power of a base model Impreza :smt021
