i did feel a slight change. with the plain short ram, my low end torque was completely gone. to get any kind of acceleration i had to be above 3500 rpm to get some good speed up. the top end revs were also affected, end i only managed to get about 110mph out of it. and it struggled to get there.
with the stealth setup the power kicks in at a lower rpm than it did with short ram. i guess at the end of the day, short ram is only there for sound, and affects the performance in a bad way ( to some extent ).
ive got an empty tank now tho... lol

Cargo cultism is a beautiful thing as long as you never fall for it.
just as i suspected... SRI setup hurts your performance too much, good thing you didn't keep it too long.
now for the other bit of my question... i still feel some of my low end torque is missing... i am thinking of installing a pipe inside the OEM air box to let the air pass through it rather than filling up the whole box... will that add a little restriction can gain me some of the lost low end torque??

well if you put a pipe inside the air box, it should theoretically smooth the air flow a little. smoother and faster air flow helps more air get to the engine quicker and could also add a little bit of power to the end result. "Every little helps."

My filter always stays cool and it's within the airbox still - I haven't put it in the wheelwell
Don't know what you guys are doing differently.

i think for me its mostly the stop-and-go traffic, which makes the heat transfer to the air filter while its not really sucking in air at high rates. and by the time i get to where i can really open it up... nothing happens cos its heated up.
but now, it cant suck in hot air in standing traffic, so its good enough for me.

What differences does it make with the cold air feed?
(I know it's meant to)
But do you notice any improvements?

how effective will be that setup on low speeds? and what about if you are at a halt?
frankly i think you are way better off with a CAI setup.

well, from what ive noticed, it feels pretty much the same as what it did when the filter was in the wheel well.
and another good thing, when i hit higher speeds (around 80mph to 100mph) with the air flow being quite high thru the feed pipe it still accelerates quite well, or so i found out the other nite on a quarter mile, and slammed the brakes too hard and almost slided into another car, thanks to engine braking i was safe.
i also want to add a heat shield as soon as i can get hold of a suitable one.
