Someone HELP ME ! With a glue removal question

Post by bsharon »

Hello all,
I just removed my emblems on the back of my cars trunk.
I am left with this grey glue. Like really strong double sided tape.
Alcohal is not working or it might but take all day.
I used a label adheasive remover and I noticed my clear cote dulling where I used it. :o(
SO I am not gonna use that.
What if anything can take off that crap?
Someone at my work sugested mineral spirits or paint thinner. Anyone know what I can use?

Please help
thanks
Brian

try some goo gone adhesive remover, i used it to debadge my lanos, it good and it doesn't leave any real spots that you cannot buff away. i used paint thinner on other cars i had, it leaves big smears and wipes away any custom painted works. with the goo product, tape as good as toy can around where the badge was, apply on glued surface and rub.

petrol works magic! i always use it to remove sticky residue from stickers on sprayed metallic surfaces. get a very small amount onto a cloth and simply wipe away! dnt rub it too much, cos apparently it can take off ur body paint... but ive never seen that happen.

UMMM... yeah that would work in the US, in here people would recognize a daewoo even if you removed all its body work... daewoos are a big celebrty here so maybe thats why i see removing badges is pointless.

the funny thing is i got the hood emblem, DAEWOO and Lanos badges on the trunk all stolen off the car so practically i got my car debadged just like you all

anyways any idea that makes people wonder about a daewoo is a great idea ;)

I took my suzuki and small S and forenza badges off the back of my car thats why. I just made a custom mesh grill using the how to as a refrence or idea. But my grill is no way as easy but it was a ton of work for my forenza but it is worth it for the results. I also painted the chrome rim black that was on the front grill.
I got a Lacetti 5 emblem when I bough my air intake so I am going to be using that instead. Because there are no lacetti's in the USA and that will definetly make people wonder . maybe look it up even.

On the front of my lanos,i put the word Lanos on the front of my car, just above the emblem on the hood, it looks good.

This guy looked at my hood and said " did Lanos stand for a nos system" is said "kinda makes you wonder, don't it." gosh, he gave me the wiedest look and got into his car and taken off.

This summer i am going to put my car is some shows so more people knows about Daewoos.
