I got oil leak too but different location

Post by j62k »

1996 Daewoo Nexia 16v

I have an oil leak from what I presume is the oil pressure switch - situated on the engine block just above the sump (oil pan) on the right hand corner on rear face of block. The oil streams out of the spade terminals! Does the switch just unscrew? (to me it looks like it is all part of the end of the block with the oil pump!?!?!?!)

On another note, I live in the UK and am having trouble locating any sort of repair guide/workshop manual, there are some listed on ebay but its not easy to work out what you are getting so if anyone can recommend something I'd be really grateful!

On the subject of the forums, I understand wot you mean but for instance I have tried to remove my timing belt cover but it seems that the steering pump pulley will not come out of the car with the engine in situ

Thanks

the oil pressure warning light unit just unscrews out of the pump assembly... try to check its copper ring it might be faulty.

post a pic for your PWS pump so we can give you better advice concerning the timing belt cover removal.

A deep reach 27mm socket shifted the Oil Pressure Sensor! Thanks

As for the Power Steering Pump Pulley, I've tried to add a pic to this posting

I think I remember seeing something about how you have to lift the engine to remove that... I could be wrong, but I think that's what you have to do to get at that.

i think you have to remove the pump's pully to remove the cover.

Sump Bolt Torque Setting

Post by j62k »

Thanks you guys...your help is invaluable!

I've changed my Oil Sensor which had the really bad leak, I was going to do an oil change anyway because the sump/oil pan was slightly leaking so its got all new gaskets and oil filter.

I just need to know what the torque settings are for the sump bolts and exhaust down pipe to manifold are.

Its such a pain not having a workshop manual for my nexia so if anyone knows of anything, pls pls pls let me know.

Thanks guys
