Starting problems and AC

Post by ramiller1976us »

Hello,
I have probably a little more of a problem then you all besides being Daewoo owners, i own one but also live in Norway! I am one of the few who own one here and have some questions for you all since help here is zero.
1. Is there a way to tell if the AC is charged up (Full) of freon or what ever they use now?? I bought the car this winter and couldnt tell if worked or not since it was so cold. Now when i turn it on nothing happens as in temp... Someone said there may be a little gauge that tells you how full it is.

Prob 2. Every once in a while it has a problem starting. It seems to be not specific circumstances around it. Just takes 2-5 attempts to start. Each time it goes up to 1300 rpm then dies. Have no clue what it is... I usually tap the gas a few times when it happens and that seems to start it...

Please let me know if you have any help for me..

When was the last time you cleaned your injectors?

(injector cleaner in the gas)

I have no idea on the AC. I don't even have AC.

owning a Daewoo is never a problem.

checking the A/C charge is done by measuring the gas pressure in the A/C system... you can't do that yourself so you have to go to an A/C service shop to do that.

you could have a leak that is letting out your gas and you need to cure it first before refilling the system... leakage could be busted seals, ferion lines, serpantine or refill valves.

you could have a busted valve in the A/C compressor itself... i had that same problem where the system was full of gas but don't blow cold air... you need to check that as well, again not a DIY job.

sounds like leaky injectors... does the symptoms sound more like what is discribed in this post??

if so then you need to clean your injectors, go for a specialized shop that have an ultra sonic cleaning machine as cleaners that are added to fuel are not that effective.

Welcome to the forum.

Hey,
Ok thanks for the response. I didnt mean owning a Daewoo was a problem, just owning one in Norway is a problem as getting any kind of part here is a nightmare.

I will try to find a place to check the AC. I miss the Jiffy Lubes and places in the states that offer convienance!!
AC in cars here is as commen as not having AC in Texas! I heard i need to take my car to a special little shop an hour away that works on refrig. trailers to have them check my car!

On the starting issue it doesnt really seem to be like that post you referred too... No smoke comes out and it doesnt sputter at all. Just starts, goes straight up to 1300-1500 rpms and dies like the plug was pulled...
There is no hestitation when driving and has never died while driving, just starting....
