Lanos bodykits and bumpers...

Post by Rodd1s »

just out of interest, does anyone know whether the bodykits or bumpers for any other car would be able to fit on a lanos without too much modification? Because as soon as I can get the money together I'm gona go for buying a full body kit.

Well, it's pretty nice. Not what I'm looking for in a body kit. I know a guy in the UK who bought one of those kits and then he wrapped his Woo around a tree before he ever put it on. He still has it and wants to sell the kit last I knew, but I wasn't sure how much he wants for it (the same kit).

I know the guy - and I told you about him before Rodd1s

He's willing to sell it all for ?250-?300

Personally though I don't think the bodykits for the lanos make the car look any different!
They're all pretty boring!

You've got the silver one on ebay, and then this one:

But again, I think they look pretty plain - Body kits are about being different and startling I think.

I was actually reading in one of my tuner mags that you should try to stick to OEM options for body kit stuff.

The main reason is they said that 99% of aftermarket body kit parts have never been tested in a wind tunnel.
The factory parts HAVE. So in reality, the aftermarket kits are a bit of a roll of the dice. There are lots of ways
to make our Woo's unique and interesting. And I don't think they're all boring.

well, another option i was considering was, instead of completely replacing the bumpers, just adding splitters/air diffusers at the front and rear, and some sort of an extension to the side skirts. or maybe even get the side skirts off the Sport version Lanos. well that added to 1.5 maybe even 2 inch lowered suspension would already make the car look ready for the tracks. The front splitters off ebay are somewhere in the price range of ?30 to ?40... duno how much that is exactly in US$, but they are universal fit and make the car look a bit better, and it aids in aerodynamics.
here's one example: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FRONT-SPLITTERS-M ... dZViewItem

and there is this read diffuser: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SAXO-VTR-VTS-REAR ... dZViewItem
my friends has one on his Saxo VTR, and it looks very good. I'm sure it could possibly fit a Lanos... or not, but in that case, i'm sure a bigger diffuser would be able to fit with modification etc.

i'll get some measurements from various cars, and see which ones match (or come closest) to the Lanos, just to get an idea of which car parts i can use.

I like the look of that bumper. Not so certain about the first one, I'd have to see one on a car to tell if I would like it or not.
