Air flow Sensor??
Gday
I'm looking at putting a CAI on my 1.4 Lanos but am wondering is there any air flow sensors or anything like that on the original intake? If so can I just plug or fit them into my new intake?? As i wanna go for the whole stainless steal pipe instead of pvc piping...
Cheers

we got no air flow sensor on daewoos, we use MAP sensor instead.
the only sensor in the intake tube is the IAT sensor which tells the ECU how hot/cold the air going into the engine... it is sitting on a gormet so all you need to do is to drill a hole that fits the gormet, install the gormet into the hole then plug the sensor in.

i would'nt be so sure i had problems connecting the MAT and putting it into my new CAI and my car was sooooooo slow. i thought i had permanently damaged it....i fixed it though and it seemed 2 be betterproudy wrote:I just have a question ask. Is it safe to disconnect the MAT (Manifold Air Temperature sensor) or is it a bad idea. Cus I have seen things and people saying disconnecting it you gets more power cus it takes in more air then.

disconnecting that sensor would throw in a CEL and i higly doubt that the fail safe for a non functional IAT sensor would gain you any performance whatsoever.proudy wrote:I just have a question ask. If I'm not mistaken, unplugging the IAT sensor will make your car go into a "safe mode" which makes your car run really rich "use higher ratio of fuel to air" which kills your gas mileage and power. If it is really cold outside, then this could help, but otherwise, it is bad to your engine and could create harmful deposits on the valves and exhaust.
Re-tune???
Gday
Just wondering after I do fit my new intake and fit the map sensor, will I need to re-tune it or anything like that??

Leanne...
an ECU reset won't hurt... no need for a real tune up or so.
