Driving on the highway at about 75 MPH I hit a piece of metal lying on
the road. I made it home fine but when I went to the car later, most
tranny fluid was on the ground, and I found a small hole in the pan.
Can this be welded (steel?-aluminum?)
transmission pan fix

That sucks... I believe it's steel... and might be able to be welded shut, but I would probably never trust it again.bolek wrote:Driving on the highway at about 75 MPH I hit a piece of metal lying on

www.Junkyarddog.com and fill in the blanks. There is probably one out there for ya.
Oh... and most certainly don't drive it until it's fixed... AT ALL.
Might not be a bad idea to look for any other damage... pain in the ass, yes... but for your safety, please have a look.
Auto? or Manual?

Well, the good news is, I fixed the pan and it's not leaking.
The bad news is, I think I need a new transmission.
It drives, but it's hardly pulling in first gear and it's getting
worse ( I think it's called slipping ).
Looks to me like somebody is going to be looking for a
used tranny.
