Front Wheel Wiggle

Post by DevlinRacer »

I drive a 94 Daewoo Racer ETi. Im using 15" tires, 50 series Dunlops. The car is ok, fast enough but I can only go as fast as 100 kph because the front tires start wiggling if i go over that speed. I already had the camber adjusted and the wheels aligned. Any suggestions? Thanks for the feedback!

The problem is definatly your tie rods because i have the same problem and my car was checked all over, wheel alignment and replacing your tie rods are a definate way to fix that problem.

any decent alighnment shop should check the tie rods as well as wheel bearings first prior to any adjustments... i didn't mention the tie rods 'cause it was mentioned that he got an alighnment job so i thought the guy missed the bearings check as a tie rod check is very easy to do... but basicly yes, bad tie rods can cause that too.

If youve already had an alignment then they wouldve adjusted tie rods. If they were slack they shouldve picked it up then...

Id be more inclinded to think the "wiggle" is a wheel balance problem especially since its only at speed. Get the front two tyres rebalanced... (its cheap to do and a good place to start troubleshooting).
