How can I make my car more powerful?

Ok, do you have any idea where I could get the parts from (I don't even know what they look like).
Could they be taken from a Daewoo or Vauxhall in a scrapyard or should they be new?

this is a crank shaft:
this is a connecting rod:
and this is when both are connected to each other:
you can get the parts used for sure if they are in a good condition... try your local scrap yard or so, i really have no idea where in the UK you can get those.

Thanks for your help - I'll have to ask around and see if that's possible to do or not.
Did those spark plugs seem like a reasonable price to you?

Does that seem reasonable in your currency?

i can get a set of triple platinum splifires for some 50% less than that in here, a set of regular V grooved NGK plugs will cost some 4.38 USD here so things are relativly cheap in Egypt.

you got ot do that with the crank shaft swap as well or else you will be simply adding a little more capacity and losing compression.Rodd1s wrote:replacing the engine's connecting rods sounds like a good idea... i mite have to do that someday.

well... this is the beauty of this mod... it is not extreme at all, pesonally if the cranks shaft and rods from the 1.6 where different than mine i'd have done it on my car ages ago but unfortunaly the 1.5 and 1.6 share the same stroak so i only got a boring option and thats a major mod. that requires a machine shop work and new pistons and shit.

What if ""
What if we put a 1.6 crank shaft into the 1.5 engine with its connecting rods would it fit . would it increase compression ratio
also hp increases????
also hp increases????
as far as i know the 1.5 and 1.6 shares the same crank shaft and rods ('cause they both got the same stroak) so using the 1.5 or the 1.6 stuff will give you the same added power.
