Optra 2.0 w/ 2.25" Magnaflow catback

Post by exist3nce »

Hey thought I would share this with everyone, sounds not bad IMO. I have cold air intake as well, but I put the intake resonator back on so I could hear mostly the exhaust.

Heres another set of runs I did with the full cold air intake (no resonator)

If anyone wants to download a copy of these let me know.

enjoy.

:D Sounds alot like my Optra 5 :D perhaps not as loud.

I build a 2.5" mandrel Stainless exhaust from the Cat back with a magaflow muffler.

The sound is very similar but most of the time I'm used to hearing tire squeel and a little bit of wheel hop during the first 10 feet.

Glad to see another Optra with some modifications... I think there are a couple guys out in Ontario with modified Optras.

Was there a setup from Magnaflow for the Optra, or did you do it all custom with a Magnaflow muffler? Got any part numbers? I have been wanting to do this to my Optra5 for a while, but was concerned about sounding too "ricey," but after hearing this setup on your Optra, I like it.

Oh, another question I had. I noticed in the first video, when you turned on your head lights, they powered up slowly, then got real bright. Do you have a HID conversion on your Optra also?

Thanks. There was no pre made kit from Magnaflow. Exhaust shop did custom piping (2.25"). Not sure about the part # for the resonator, but as long as you get a high flow one from Magnaflow that matches whatever size piping you are going to use, should sound the same. As for the muffler, it is this one here > http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shop ... ain&id=762

Myself I would have preferred not such flashy tips, but it was needed to clear the bumper. In the end it still looks much nicer than that boring ugly GMDAT stock one IMO.

I'll post some pics in a few minutes.
