theoritically speaking you are right but having old tires at the front is not a good idea... you accelerate, brake and steer through the front tires so thats where your best grip should be.
i replace all my 4 tires the same time and i rotate them every 5,000 kms so that at the end of the 40,000 kms torture course that i give them they are all evenly worn out.

It worked fine for me. But i dont know what kinda tyres he has at the back, so i dunno. and buy the way i wrote that at 1am in the morning and tired as hell, didnt want to watch some crappy movie which my friends were watching. Frigin Freaky Friday, God I hate Lindsey Lohan.

proudy, u got a good point there of just evrytime moving the rear less worn tyres ot the front and replacing the rear tyres instead. Other than that, just switching them over evry now and then (either 6 months or 12 mnths, depending on my driving) would also work.
And I hate 'Freaky Friday' too... it's even worse than the original!

Cargo cultism is a beautiful thing as long as you never fall for it.
In a rainy environment it's not suggested to put worn tires in the rear...http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTiresRear.dos
Even with FWD i wouldn't suggest it...
See... I don't worry about it as much as it's not as rainy in arizona as it is in other parts of the world...
And also this doesn't really matter if your tires have almost the same amount of tred as when you bought them... (IE only had them for like, a month or two...)

a woo that is a work in progress
as far as i know, from tech specs on various websites... the 0-60mph sprint time of the 1.3 sohc lanos is recorded at around 15 secs. when i first got my car... this was true. earlier today i did a lil sprint again... and it was just over 12 secs... today is also been the hottest day in the last 2 weeks.
my custom induction kit seems to be working...

are you sure of that 0-60 time??
i mean the standard 4 door 1.5 SOHC with 84 HP does the 0-60 in 12.5 seconds and it weights 1036 kgms.
if you do it now in a bit over 12 seconds then you should have gained some 10 HP by installing the cone filter to go from 74 to 84 HP and do such performance from a 1005 kgm car... no CAI or SRI mod ever added 10 HP to a Woo so again i ask: are you sure?

here is the page where i found the tech spec: http://www.wisebuyers.co.uk/motoring/ca ... /DE000167/
ive seen other website with pretty much the same info.
i'll do a few more tests tonite when we go for a cruise. it mite not be that its added 10HP, but becos my air filter is located in the wheel well, it could just be the colder air adding a little more torque, which makes up for the extra accel.
like i said, i'll do a few more 0-60 runs when i can.

as per that page your car in stock setup should do a 0-60 in 15 seconds... you took off some +- 2.5 seconds with the cone filter alone and that what made me ask about the accuracy of your calculations.
more 0-60 runs is a good idea indeed.
