I was not talking about wheel size but tyre size. 1" = 25.4mm, so 215mm = 8.46".

I have had 18"x7.5" rims with 225-35-18 tires on them for quite some time.
the right tires to run on these are 215-35, it comes down to roling diameter.
The car is also been dropped over 2" front and rear.
Slit rubbing on the front, when mounting kerbs and what not, but no driving probs.
rear, even when i had 17's rubbed. rolling of the gaurds, and heavy inside gaurd smothing and belting, fixed this...i also extended the metal bump stop by an inch
to stop bottoming out(i can take springs our and move car fine).
when the 18s went on, heavy modding in the outer and inner gaurd, inc the front arch, round the side sirt had to be done.
the gaurds are maybe 10mm further out now due to rolling etc.
by the end they fit nice, and scrubbed very very rarely. it is also a daily driven car.

we got a set of very similar tread pattern tires on the 2.0 Nubira good on tarmak but not so good on water... actually it was rated B for traction, we got now Kumho Ecsta with AA traction rating.
