Turbo on automatic

Post by Dillon »

I have a 2001 nubira and am looking into puting a turbo on it but the car is an automatic. Do you guys think it would be worth it? And if so what turbo should i use on an automatic?

Thanks...

a lot of the people i've talked to say auto turbos can be more fun in some situations, and i'm looking to do it in the future... maybe not any time soon... Look through the other threads though, there are a lot of good topics on what kind of turbo you can use.

Well one of the down falls is that you will not hear the blow off valve because of the smooth shifting where as in a manuel trans every time you press the clutch you will hear the blow off valve

anyway you would have to

BOV are a bypass when you step your foot out of the gas pedal

If you want somebody to hear your BOV you just step in the gas until it reaches full boost

Then lift your foot out of the gas pedal, TB will close, no vacum, BOV opens, excess pressure realese and then the beautifull sound

the best way to get a turbo not to lag is to have an auto with a high stall converter. Over here the XR6 turbo auto is quicker then the XR6 turbo manual
