boost
I am curentle baggin and bodydropin a 88 toyota pickup. I think I may turbo. This motor its a 4cyl carb.
THE IDEA:
Get dual carb off some sort of motorcycle to run side draft.
Run a 2 in to one collector for the intake for hood clearance.
Put a plate on the exhaust manifold downpipe for turbo fiting.
QUESTIONS
1. Can I turbo a carburated 4 cyl?
2. Where do the oil in and out got to?
3. Do u think the carb froma bike will work!
4. I will also be removing all the crap off the motor like emisisond stuff.
Will the motor still run wit the new carbs?
5. For intake piping could I use 1.5" exhaust piping for ease of bending?

just a bit of advice.. you cant just throw a turbo on a car with out any idea of what you are getting into. and from what your questions are im taking it that you dont know much about turbo charging
first off.. any motor can take a turbo carb or not
oil lines go into the turbo and out the turbo.. as for the motor i dont not know buecause its a toyota and i have no idea if it has a oil feed on the block, you will have to do your homework and look that one up
im kinda confused at why you would want to use a bike carb when you can use the stock one and just upgrade the jets or find another toyota one
dont know how much emissions on a 88 motor would have but im sure it wont be much
intake pipeing should be aluminum but can be Stainless steel
few things you want ot look at
how many miles on the motor??
how much boost you want and can handle
how much room will you have to mount the turbo??
is it worth the money to turbo charge the motor?
do you have the reasources to get it tuned so it doesnt DET??
you might want to join a turbo forum to find out more info on turbo charging a motor. this isnt something a normal joe can pull off on a weekend

easy there killer I know the basics just wondering were the oil lines go on the motor.
Also would like to know wether or not u can turbo a carbd motor.
The new carbs are for a cleaner engine bay! They are also easier to tune!
1 more thing im not woried about blowing it up. I think I might trie for like 8 to 12 psi.
I will probable get a junk yard turbo from a mx6 sunbird or probe witch is probably the best
to get?

to run a normal blow through setup you dont need to modify the carbs, but if you run a draw through setup (i.e carbs before turbo, strange but i have seen it before) you need to get them boost referenced which is where it gets more expensive
