which turbo will be better for my stock engine?
Is the T3 good enough to run on a stock engine and if I change the internals how much boost will the T3 give me?

If you plan to run no more than 10 psi and want to have quick spool up you can use a T25/T28
A got start is to search for 2.0 Turbo engines and which turbo they have
IE the SR20DET (NISSAN) they started using T25 latter models used T28 ball bearing
Mitsubishi Turbo Eclipse uses 16g turbos
IMO A T25/T28 will b fine for 200 whp
If you have 200 whp sure you are goint to be running 14 sec. 1/4 mile

If you are looking at a used turbo then it depends if in your country you can find Nissans or Mistubishi's/Subaru's easier.
You'll need to work out how much power you are after and start looking at compressor maps to see which turbo will suit best.
T25 is very small on 2L and wouldnt give so much room for expansion. Thats why alot of the Nissan SR20 people swap out to a T28 very early on...
I'd go T28 or a TD04 atleast! TD04 on the 1.5L spools very quickly so on a 2L i'd imagine it would be even quicker!
If you rebuild and put in strong internals then you could run ALOT of boost with the right tune...

If you can get a TD04 easily then it's for you! Its easier to find these in wreckers in Australia, all the T25/T28/T3 from Nissans get bought VERY quickly... so thats why i went TD04 - good supply (many WRX owners here change their turbos... and then people with little hatches/sedans buy them for projects ).rr__kroz123 wrote:ohh ok I'm thinking of going till 12psi no more then that with engine rebiuld.

That link is pretty consistent to what I was going to say.
Subarus run about 12psi stock (wastegate is set at 6psi - they have a boost controller) with an 8:1 compression.
TD04 is good to around 16psi then it starts to get outside its efficiency.
TD04 will be a good starting point in my opinion. This will be excellent for a street turbo setup on your car i believe with the right tune - even at 6psi you'll be cheering!
If you get very serious you can always upgrade to an IHI VF series turbo later on and turn up the boost... But this will require serious tuning!

it depends on what you want.
a turbo is not going to give you all your cake.
Note: the smaller the turbo the more choke you get at the top end.
first, do you want low end power( 2000 - 5000) ?
if so a t25 or t28 hybrid will do just fine.
do you want midrange power (2500 - redline?)?
if so, go with a t3(a/r 48, turbine housing). 60 or super 60 trim compressor.
do you want highend power(3200 - redline)?
if so, go with a T3(a/r 62, turbine housing). compressor same as top.
dont worry about boost pressure. boost pressure is only relative.
worry more about CFM's.
assuming 200hp is your goal, you will need a turbo that can flow 250 CFM. you will have to look at the map of the turbo to know at what psi it put out this much CFM's.
example, a t25 might flow 250CFM @ 15psi and a T3 might flow the same CFM @ 10psi.
the t25 would have to wipped the air more violently to produce this CFM which also adds heat to the air which you dont want in the first place.
the T3 would produce the same CFM with less heat and less beating of the air.

1. it's an oem turbo: it's been designed to travel 100,000+ miles
2. the map is HUGE: it will push all the boost you'd ever want
3. it's an oem turbo : there are tons of them out there. they came on gen 1 DSMs
