De-badged the Lanos (now with pics)

Post by TheGreatAndPowerfulOz »

Today, I removed the DAEWOO and Lanos lettering name badges from my Lanos to see how the car looks with out them.

Its really clean and much smoother looking, but I am still not sure if I am going to leave them off.

I like letting people who see the car know what it is.

Without the badges, they may never know what kind of car they are admiring or laughing at.
Some people who are not familiar with the cars do not know what they are just by looking at them.

*shurg*

I'll leave the name badges off for a while and see how I like it, but I think I may put them back on. :)

I like leaving my badging on my Woo. For the reason you stated, and because I feel a certain level of pride in having a Daewoo that I want it displayed proudly.

There are no holes under the Daewoo and Lanos lettering.
The GM Daewoo badges are still on the car and those are the ones that have the hole under them; those were not and will not be removed.

I will post pics tomorrow after I get home from school.

Today, I did not have time to get photos as I drove almost 600 miles for a delivery and did not get home until it was almost dark.

I removed the lettering by carefully heating the name badges with a heat gun (I was careful not to let anything get TOO hot) and then slid strong thin nylon string under to cut the adhesive.
The remaining adhesive was removed with Oops multi-purpose remover to take off the rest.

Since the badges had been on the car for so long, they had rubbed their shape into the surface of the paint.
These rubbed marks were removed with Brasso metal polish and you can not see there was ever anything there.

Yeh i debadged our nubira on the weekend, always loved the cleaner look, and will look into the crayon idea.
My lanos was debadged and the amount of people who took for a honda civic, was laughable.
even as they stood next to it.

but i like the look more, clean lines.
