i didn't miss any spots... it seems like the paint is fading or something as it was red all the way the first time i did it, i guess i better get a red sticker and put it on the needles for a more consistent look.

In your case you removed the green caps I thought.I made it and the result as you have .but you can see bright red for the area around the black center & dark red at the tip. I think that is ugly appearence
My goal is not to paint the needle or anything just to change the bulb colors and try to tint the back face of the guages( I saw it really
when you look for jhonnyC guages it is white ( AS in Matiz ) I want that color for the needle
do you got it????

give me a link to JohnnyC's cluster so i can see what he did... also the color fade is not that apparent at night as their are no surrounding lights and in the morning they are cool as well as you can see in the first pic.
actually it looks much better than the pic but anyways i will help you with what you want as soon as i see what Johnny did to his cluster.

try to tint the bulds themselvs with glass paint or so... not to mention that you will have to get them 5 watt bulbs to make the light stronger and penetrate through the paint.

I have no idea about that. you can paint to have (red, green, yellow or purple) but blieve me you cant anyway get a white or blue beam. IMPOSSIBLE to make it by hand. you can get them Only by a white or blue lamp not by any tinting
if you know a place to get a white or a blue bulbs without a lense cap ( can radiate light in anyway not directed to straight lines please tell me(BULBS not LEDS)
JohnnyC wrote: The caps on the bulbs can be removed without much trouble. If you're trying to achieve pure white, it will be a little tricky. There is a slight tint to the gauges themselves giving them almost a red tint of sorts. My guess would be that you need to cancel out that red with a slight blue tint... of course I could be wrong about that. Most of those lights are not specificly directed light. They certainly aren't projector lights at all.
The needles themselves are easy to do... just need to sharpie them with whatever color you want. I recommend using a sharpie for that since it's partially transparent and will allow for more light to come through the needles themselves.

you can get a set of 10 5watt blue bulbs from Alforsan market for 10LE but the blue will fade after some time and it will look ugly.
also you can get 2 5watt ice white bulbs for 24LE from Alforsan as well... haven't tried them yet but they are tempting indeed.

i didn't say ice blue i said ice white and those are very bright... also LEDs are the ones that immit a beam not bulbs, never use LEDs on gauge clusters.nefary wrote:ice blue is too weak and the blue make a blue spots and leave all around dark
