Stock intake pipes on lanos and cielo

I was just wondering if the stock intake pipe on the cielo would be the same size as a lanos?
As in, where the pipe connects to the TB and other connector fittings?

I managed to ruin the intake pipe on my cielo and am needing a new one hehe...
Seen as cielos arent too common, i was gona check out a wrecker n look for a lanos pipe.

EDIT:
I was just thinking about making a new SRI using PVC pipe.
PVC purely because its easy to get a hold of, its light, cheap and easy as heck to work with.

Would PVC be OK to use?
Keeping in mind that:
1) I would be inclined to guard it as best as i can against heat from the engine
2) I am using other methods to ensure it will be getting the coldest air possible
3) It would be temporary till i am able to get a metal pipe made up

we have used PVC on the 2.0 nubira intake... so far it is holding up OK.

Try reading this thread about how I hooked up my Ghetto SRI... I have a Lanos 1.6, but perhaps it will help you to figure some ideas out. I too have future plans for mine.

Well... no... But you could go out and get yourself the same PVC part I did ($.85 usd) and then check to see if it will fit. If it does, go get the filter and take the PVC with you and make sure it fits the other end.

I made the bracket myself, so you're on your own there. If your PVC doesn't fit, you're not out much money.

Thanks for the input...

Just to clarify, my intentions are to make basically the entire intake pipe out of PVC.
I will be buying a bit of silicone hose to connect it to the TB, and having the PVC pipe going straight from that bit of silicone hose, to the filter.
So it will be pretty basic, but hopefully really effective.

I would've thought PVC would retain heat/melt after a while?

Yeah a custom made metal pipe would be ideal as far as heat, looks etc goes...

Im opting for PVC (or ABS, ive read that PVC releases noxious gasses when its heated, and ABS is more heat resistant.. or something like that) becasue i can make the whole thing myself, i can experiment with different pipe lengths, diameters, shapes etc as much as i like coz its so easy to get and put together. So i wouldnt be confined to a metal pipe that i cant do anything with.
Basically for ease of construction, versatility and its cost effective.
Me and my brother bought a house yesterday so i really gota start penny pinching...

Ive had ideas of an adjustable ram pipe so i can change the length of the pipe whenever i want, having various sized reducers and large diameter pipes to experiment with air volumes and such.
But i am planning on making it short ram.
And im definately going to make a setup that will direct as much cold air as possibly to the engine. Basically going to have a few pipes here n there that open at the front bumper that direct cold air to the same place under the filter.
Got heaps of cold air?

PVC is miles cheaper than a stanless steel and PVC is much easy to construct to your specific needs... it withstands heat very well, 10,000 kms of hard driving with the modded 2.0 and it is holding on pretty tight.

for me PVC kicks @$$.

No offense but all of them look real bad PCV pipe is not flashy at all

the last pics is the most recent but you can start on page one and see how I bought and cut one to fit my daewoo and how much nicer it looks then PCV

thats the point... it depends wether you want it for looks or performance or in other words which got more weight: looks or performace.

for me looks doesn't mean a thing... i just want the extra performance as my car isn't a show car... OK it is not a race car either but i'd like to make it faster will less cost.

I know PVC isnt flashy, im not after flashy.

I got the pipes and made my intake and a cold air pipe from the front bumper (fog light cover hole) to the hole in the engine bay.
Im at work so i dont have pics here, but when i get home, ill take some.

be carefull installing a cone filter as i got defected today for having one in my brothers car. Aparrently its an EPA thing that you have to have your air filter boxed. If the car gets pulled up again with the cone on it it is a $1000 fine
