Questions about headlight bulbs
As you know, I was lucky enough to get the black headlights from Tom before the unfortunate demise of 350Dynamics.
Anyway ... the new headlights need H1 bulbs.
I need info on the brightest, whitest, best and clearest at night.
Who knows about this?
I have been thinking about Sylvania Silverstars, but as we all know, they are pretty expensive, and the new lights need 4 bulbs.
Also, since it is good to use yellow bulbs in fog, should I use yellow bulbs for the low beam?
Just as an example, I found these:

Thanks in advance for any info you have to share.
Cliff
P.S. I do not want to convert to HID. I just want to use standard H1 bulbs.

you'll think i'm crazy... but go yellow entirely. it's been proven (and track used in le mans) that a yellow or amber light pierces darkeness better than any other color (in regards to human retinal response). silver stars and similar white lighting is great for periferal vision (that is to say the area "around" the headlight beams), but the over-all visibility isn't as good.

if you want to read a ton of junk on lighting... check out that and read all the pages
i don't reccommend it unless you are bored off your rocker.
my vote goes to total yellow setup

Re: Questions about headlight bulbs
I used those several times.. really, not worth it. Now I pick up the cheap bulbs from ebay, they only last half the time but are a hell of alot better looking (when looking at the car) and light up the road better. They may not last as long but they are still a better bang for the buck and work better. I just bought 4 sets cuz i drive alot and have daytime running lights, so i go through one bulb every 5 weeks or so.TheGreatAndPowerfulOz wrote: I have been thinking about Sylvania Silverstars, but as we all know, they are pretty expensive, and the new lights need 4 bulbs.
Edit: I've been going with 5000k for the ebay bulbs and pay like 10bux shipped a set

Oh yeah.. if you get ones like what I have, upgrade the sockets. Mine finally melted and it messed up the whole headlight cuz of the plastic burningTheGreatAndPowerfulOz wrote:I love how bright the Silverstars are in my Lanos, but I don't feel like spending around $80 for all for bulbs.
The cheap bulbs should last a while and I can always get different ones.
