My wife uses a 95 Daewoo Racer and it's been with us for sometime now. She inherited it from her grandmother so basically the car has a lot of sentimental value to her. Now, my problem is that it is so difficult for me to get the car runing properly. A couple of months ago I had the DISTRIBUTOR assembly replaced as it was not running. And so now I have it running but I've got a serious case of misfiring going on, I had the plugs replaced as they were busted and thought it'd be good to go but still nothing. And then yesterday as I was looking under the hood i noticed a tapping sound next to the high tension wires and to my surprise i got electrocuted when I tried to touch it
. I turned the car off and checked the wires to see if there were any tears that would be the cause of my getting electrocuted. There wasn't any and when I started the car it seemed like it was running new again, just like when we got it. And then the tapping sound was again audible and then it started to misfire. I tried to touch it again and felt a little jolt of electricity AGAIN! Dumb question: Do I need to replace the high tension wires? If so, are there any upgrades available for it? Also I wouldn't know which the equivalent of the racer is anywhere else in the world.

am getting really frustrated with it. changing the leads was something i should've done when we acquired the car but what kept me from changing them was that i wanted to look for performance upgrades like Splitfire or Hurricane. Thing is are they compatible? Being in a country where hondas, toyotas and nissans dominate the roads , there aren't many people who can help me when it comes to tuning our Daewoo. So, when I found this forum I just had to get listed.
