Yes, this was my idea...mmamdouh wrote: ...you have to make a new bracket to relocate the power steering pump... right?

I got myself C20XE from Calibra, and I got engine mount for kadett e GSI(astra mk2). Mount for A/C komp will be used from my Lanos and this would all fit like a glowe..
But power steering warries me. So, my idea is to put power steering pump behind engine, just under the alternator (power generator)... What do you think about that?

You should be able to find one in reasonable condition for under $500
I bought a whole complete 1987 Sunbird GT Turbo for $1000 so that I would have all the wiring and a complete engine.
The car ran fine.... I canceled my Lanos C20GET swap about half way through rebuilding the C20GET (sold the Lanos and bought an Optra ).... so the engine is still sitting in my garage.... half done. (now I'm turboing a 16V 2.0L from a Forenza to drop into my Optra 5 aka Reno )
Too bad I don't have the time to get it back together.... it was in really good shape....210,000 Km on it but hardely any cylinder wall scoring... I could almost get away with not boring the cylinder walls.

HI all has anyone in australia fitted a larger/different motor to their 98ish Lanos 1.5L (A15SMS).
My woo is on 168,000km and it seems to on its way to woo heaven, despite being babied around by my mother all its life and being serviced regularly. Quality engineering. NOT!
As my local wreckers sell all woo motors for around the around price I figure I may as well go for a sneaky upgrade instead of rebuilding my current motor.
Cheers and I hope it gets me to work tomorrow.

I have A/C from lanos, electrical power steering from astra-G, m/t gearbox from lanos, and c20xe installed. Everything bolt on, execpt for a/c mount and servo mounts.
This is killer swap!

Yes. You could use electrial steering pump from any car that have one. It's easyest to keep your steering column. I didn't want to loose power steering, and A/C. But you cannot put both in lanos. So this was the good option...
Pure electrical powersteering is almost imposible to transpant from one car to another. Also electrical power steering is worst than hidraulic. It has less information of the road. But mechanical power steering pump isn't ecenomical, and it burns gasoline and engine power. So electrical-hidraulic power steering pump is great solution...
