Oxygen sensor

What would be the best way to take off the oxygen sensor its solid on there and i can't budge it and it need a wire fix but it would be easier on the bench. I don't want to hurt it. Thanks

spray a good penetrating lubricant on it (pb blaster, deep creep, etc) and use the right kind of socket to get it out (the o2 sensor socket has a groove cut for the wire to sit in

If it's that solid be careful the manifold thread doesn't come away with the O2.

its been a week of spraying break free on the sensor its crazy shit we have had for a long time. I don't think u can buy it anymore.

WD = water dispersement (or displacement?) The 40 is the amount of times it took before getting the formula right. In Oz there is also an easystart called "start-ya-bastard"

Also try warming the engine before removing the sensor. Just don't burn yourself!

Just a point to note here.!!!

Be careful where you lash the release fluid. Most Lambda sensors rely upon comparisons from Ambient air too, and have a small vent to the sensor from the outside too. If you get any releasant into this orifice, you could/will ruin the sensor.

The substrate used in the sensors is porous, and relies upon this. If the fluid gets into it, it will malfunction.

Another point to note here is Injector cleaner, Make Sure you use the type for CAT equipped cars. I know it sounds silly, but I have seen quite a few stuffed ones from contamination, be it externally(steam cleaning, or release fluids), and internally(Fuel additives/cleaners).

well my oxygen sensor is fixed and the code isn't coming up any more but i did use injector cleaner, lucas stuff is that safe for the car?

Good Question, USUALLY!! it says on the Bottle. If so, it could be.

The trouble is, if like me, I got some "sloshed" into the tank. But it "goosed" Mine shortly after!

Thinking back, I guess I did the old trick where you "Over-dose" it, take the car for a spin around the block, and leave it to stand over-night. Fire it up the next day, it runs rough at first, but then clears when you fill it up shortly after.

On reflection, I guess it was TOO concentrated, and contaminated the Lambda sensor.

Lesson here is ..... Follow the instructions!?!?!

Silly me, old tricks, and new technology!
