Trouble code p0440 Vacuum leak maybe?

Post by azazel19 »

The check engine light has been on for a while so i got it checked out. I have a 2000 lanos hatchback manual 1.6L. The guy at the counter told me that the p0440 fault code was probably a vacuum leak. So I looked around and I found a hose on the throttle body that wasn't attached to anything. Now I can't find out where it's supposed to go. On the throttle body there are two hoses and one blank in the middle. Facing the throttle body it's the hard plastic hose on the front top of the throttle body. It curves to the back of the intake manifold and connects to nothing. It has a sticker on it that says caution fuel. That kinda bothered me. Please help me find out what this is and where it goes. Also there was another code P0301 misfire detected, what could have caused this I have new plugs and plug wires. Thanks in advance.

i got one like that... it is connected to something on the bottom of the firewall... i don't know why is it marked as "fuel line" yet i see no fuel in it... anyways you need to check arround the starter motor area for a loose port.

i got no bullit proof on the location of the thingy but i am sure it is arround the area unser the steering rack and about the middle near the strter motor... will give more feedback if i popped my hood within the comming hours.
