Same problem! Anyone have ideas???????????
OK, here's the problem........ When in "park" I revv the motor, then it cuts in and out! Halfway down it revvs smooth. But on the last half of the pedal, is when the problem develops.... The car seems to run fine on the road, maybe a little sluggish up hills.
When I recieved the car it was not working, so I can't compare it! To me it feels like how a 4 cylinder car should work!
Now, I've reset ECM computer. Using the step by step instructions in the "how to" section.....
Afterwards I've driven the car 10-20 miles and no problem codes show! No "check engine" light! But I'm having the same problem with revvs in park.....
Any ideas on why the problem codes don't show? I thought the problem was one of my injectors, now I'm uncertain.........

For Real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, my car is probably running fine?????????? OMG!
Can other American Daewoo 1.6 DOHC / Automatic transmission people confirm this? Just leave your car in park and press down on the throttle. Your car should revv fine half way down, then cut in and out during the last half..
If thats the case, then my car is fine and I can now have it smog checked !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Someone please get back to me! I'll jump and kick my heels in the air, if it's true! Yee Haw!

Why on earth are you guys reving the engine to 4000RPM in Park?
That's really bad for the engine..... 4K under load... not a problem.... 4K or more in Park.... it's not a good idea
I can't for the life of me rember why it's so bad to rev under no load.... perhaps someone else can comment.... all I know is that it's a bad idea.

I wanna thank everyone! For the quick responses/help! My motor now runs normal, after a the top end rebuild valves, water pump, belt, tensioners, etc. A couple of small problems (transmisson/loose electric wire, low torque head bolts), but I've survived all my problems!
Now, I must figure out why my front window defrost vents are not blowing air! Then to the body shop and maybe new rims or wheel covers. After all that, I'll probably start looking for some power gains.....

You've broken the connector behind your controller on the vent system... if you want to rig it to blow to the windshield here's what you do:
Open your drivers side door and kneel down beside your open door.
Look down under the dash to the inside wall of your center console. You'll notice a white plastic thing (kinda shaped like a rounded triangle).
That is the controller for the vent system. Grab it with your hand and move it so that it is rotated furthest towards your engine.
That should do it... it will now be blowing between the floor and windshield. Just turn on your fan to see if you got it right.
** The plastic holders for the heat control wires break all the time from what I hear... I had the same problem... just haven't fixed mine yet, just rigged it like I explained above **

if that is the cae then why M/T cars rev up to 6500 RPM in neutral?? i say it has to do with the auto tranny.daewoomofo wrote:and the load acts as a restriction, so that i doesnt rev up too fast for oil pressure to catch up (or some thing like that)
