how is taking something OFF an engine making the engine better? :/

when you remove something that RESTRICTS air it will make the engine better

the resonator is just making the engine sounds quiter by restricting the air a bit---> you lose power
remove the resonator you will get more power and sound

it is just like removing the CAT... you remove parts that restrict air flow into and out from the engine to keep it breathing freely.
