Problem with engine NEED HELP!!
My leganza has recently started to really bog down and sputter really bad. I can't figure what it is. I am thinking its the coil pack because it sounds like its missfiring really bad. Anytime I give it gas from a stop or slow speed it bogs down bad.

That is most likely a bad coil/bad plugs/bad wires, especially if you smell pure gasoline odor coming from the exhaust. This seems to be a common problem with our cars. Myself, along with plenty of other owners had it happen. One way to check is to pull the coil end of the plug wires out and see if sparks are coming from the individual pins. If they aren't, it'll need a new coil.
If you need a new coil, I have a spare one that I could sell you. PM me for info.

just be careful when you do that or else you will get zapped pretty hard.

I have fairly new aftermarket wires and plugs (crappy bocshe platinums) My check engine light isn't on. My grandmas Expedition was doing the same and her coil pack was bad. So how much would it cost to get a replacement.360 Dynamics wrote:Also, check the resistance (use mutli-meter) across your ingnition wires, check the plugs (replace if required)... Do u get any error codes?? Is the check engine light on??

i had that same problem with my lanos i figured it had something to do with the ignition as well but it ended up being a fuel filter so before you spenn $100 going through the ignition system try replacing your fuel filter it could save you a little bit of scratch.

I dunno... mine didn't throw CEL at first and left me scratching my head... eventually they did and it told me what the problem was.DArkstalker wrote:I don't know for sure were could I have a test done to tell me that.daewooluvr wrote:I have a coil pack if ya need one.
Are you sure it isn't the Cam Pos Sensor or the Crank Pos Sensor, they did that to me when they went bad.

First of all, get rid of Bosch platinum plugs. From my eperience working at the tuning shop, this is the last spark plug you want to use. I'd recommend NGK V-Groove or similar. They are inexpensive and excellent value for the money. These are also plugs of choice for pretty much every tuned car, short of iridiums. I can count at least 5 or 6 cases where poor drivebility was caused by platinum plugs.
