Induction Kit for 1.4 Lanos?

Post by norbie »

Hello,

I would like to purchase an induction kit for my 1.4 Lanos but the one's I've seen are only for the 1.5 version.
I have contacted the manufacturer and they say they do not make one for the 1.4, but I have seen this same model used on a 1.4 :?

Any ideas?

The suppliers insist that it will not work, maybe something to do with it being called 8v ?

If you say it will work, then I'd rather believe you :)

it will work for sure... the 1.5 engine is a stroaked 1.4 engine so the only different parts are the crank shaft and the connecting rods... other than that it is the same engine.

air intake got nothing to do with the number of valves you have not to mention that both the 1.4 and 1.5 are 8 valve engines... i'd say the manufacturer is talking from his ass and doesn't want to do any reserch.

haha thankyou very much!

i'm not too good with cars but i know about as much as this will replace my existing airbox.

is this easy enough to fit, or should i pay a garage to do it for me?

I might have a go at removing the air resonater first to see what difference that makes (I have a replacement k&n air filter in the airbox at the moment).

K&N Filter was ?34 GBP, and I did notice an increase in performance, but I'd like a little more, and especially sound.

I would be a bit worried about trying to get the resonator out as I would have to take the wheel off (something I've never done :? )
