Headers?

Post by kroz123 »

Headers 4-1 or 4-2-1?

Which would be a better choice?

I can have costum headers made here by a local welding shop, so thats why I need this info?
Is it a good idea? he's going to use exhaust pipe to make it.

Any input?

Thanx 8)

now dont quote me on the but i dont think you can make headers of exhaust pipe cause its thin and headers are thicker and stronger....... but i could be wrong, also i have a friend who took his oem headers to a local engine shop and had them cut and welded diforent pipes that have been bored down from a 3000gt and he says he feels quite a difforence..

no way with the exhaust pipe it would probably melt! you need to get the proper piping for a header and the right flat to make the flanges. i think you will need 1/8 inch thick pipe. i dont know the size of the pipe. that muffler shop is trying to take your money if he suggested to make it with exhaust pipe.

Many people make custom headers. 4-1 is for high end gain, 4-2-1 low-mid range gain.
