If you paint the chrome reflector part the headlights will not be as bright.

mocpac_ser wrote:MMamdouh - question why dont you paint hte clomplete part (te crome area) black. Just the exterior. That is what we do here. As soon beto take pics of the light I will post them
just like OZ said it will be a bit dimmer... some people might not think its OK but we thought we would keep the brightness at the optimum level... it is still an option to paint the whole frame though.

Ok, maybe I dont rxplain this correctly. I dont mean the interior of the light where the light get reflected out. I mean the front area and where mmamdouh put the tape. The complete crome are that you can take out.

i got your point... thats why i said a little bit dim... if you paint the whole reflector it will be dark as hell.

we used standard issue black spray paint can... the finish was good enough for us as after all the chrome part will be covered with the plastic cover.

we didn't sand any of the chrome at all, we applied the paint directly on it... if you are going to do it; apply several mild paint coats to avoid dripping... the paint won't stick as easy on the chrome surface so a mild coat will give a good ground for the next coat(s).

I painted mine, there's no dimming what so ever that I had noticed. No difference. You still have that reflective thing around the bulb and apparently it's enough.
