im thinkin bout puttin a 2ltr turbo in my woo, will there be enough room, are there any other dificulties that i may come across. what engine would be more suited, leggy or nubie? cheers lads

in a 2.0cc and 2.2cc swap ,
I can use the same Tranny of a Lanos 1.5 sohc ?

It appears to be 2.2 DOHC, as the 2.0 seems to have the oil dipstick on the right hand side of the exhaust manifold.

Yes, your gearbox will bolt with this motor. As long as you are using at least D16 or D20 (5 speed manual)

my god ITB's would sound oh so sexy. but i still dont have the money to custom make enough stuff to get the same power as turbo. turbo=cheaper than NA setup

So you are saying that SWAP from 2.0L Nuba engine to Lanos is not so hard, only thing is to "cut" some of original mount.

its really good i saw that post once again as i have a question... if you went back and took a closer look at the engine bay pics you will see that some cars are missing the MAP sensor.

when we did the 2.0 swap on the nubira (equavlent to a 2.0 swap on a 1.6 lanos) we got this issue as we ended up with the vacuum line from the MAP with no where to connect it on the TB... also i have noticed on the 2.0 leganza that it got no MAP but it got a little sensor on the intake manifold with a triple wire socket just like the MAP.

IDK what that little sensor is but from the logical point of view i can say this is equavlent to a MAP sensor if it was not a MAP sensor.

now for the important question? is it any different to use this MAP sensor located on the intake rather that the one on the fire wall? the way i see it both do the same job so it is indifferent to use any... right?

map = manifold absolute pressure

yes i know... i mean that both sensors do the very same job and we are currently using the one on the fire wall so i thing it is not worth it to dig the engine bay in the attempt to use the sensor on themanifold... right?

it really doesn't matter which one you use, they will show the same reading. do whatever is convinient and not a pain
