lowering kit - Nubira 2 ?

Post by dinoc »

Hi everyone,

I want to put a lowering suspension kit on my Nubi2 car - but something like 15mm (maximum 20 mm) - not more (we have a lot of bad roads here - that's why I don't want to go lower than that). So far I've found for this car Intrax, H&R and Eibach - but 30 mm ... Any others brands I could try or other sugestions ?

Thanks,
DG

Yes but the only avalaible Eibach springs for Nubira 2 are the Pro-Kit, 20% stiffer than OEM springs and are lowering the car with 30 mm.
Do you think this 30 mm are safe enough for not so good roods ?

Eibachs are perfectly fine. Going from stock cut springs that I had to Eibachs, was like going back to stock. You won't have any problems.

Thanks guys.

I run on 15" wheels 6,5x15 ET43 with 195/55 R15 (bothe fron and back).
But I'm thinking to put some 215/50 R15 tyres only on the back wheels (by the way what to you think about this ?)

And yes I do drive with people on the back seats quite often - is it still safe to lower 30 mm ? :)

I think wider tires on the rear wheels only help in a RWD car. I think it's bad actually in a FWD car, lots of understeer.

First of all... why would you put wider tires in the rear of a FWD car? It's completely pointless.
Second of all... I've had 5 people in my Lanos hatchback with Eibachs + 15x6.5 wheels with 40mm offset. And had NO rubbing issues. The car was sooooo slow, but no suspension problems what so ever. Once again, that's 5 people including the driver.

Thanks again guys.

I did not know that wider back wheels are designed for rear traction ... good thing you've clarified this for me

Ok, I'll go for Eibach then - 30 mm lower. Once I have them installed I'll post some pics.

if you want to lower your car with springs you should also buy new sport shocks. I have Eibach -30mm with Koni Sport (front and rear) in my Nubira Combi..... Front Koni Sport shocks have also ability to adjust from soft to hard :)

It works wonderful!

Yes, I will change my shock absorbers too (I was thinking to Monroe Sensatrac gas) - but Koni are a very good option.
Do you have a Nubira 2 model ?
Do you have pictures of it ? I'm curious how a Nubira 2 looks lowered with 30 mm.

Anyway, about the Koni sport - how are them ? Aren't them too stiffy ?

1. I had Sensatrack and I could only say that is a piece of shit!! Much better are OEM (orginal Korean - also gas) shocks - trust me!!
2. Stock shocks are very bad idea with lower springs.
3. I have Daewwo Nubira II 2.0CDX Wagon
4. I don't have picutres of my car yet..... but I think will have in two weeks
5. KoniSport aren't to stiffy because as I wrote they are fully and stepless adjustable from very soft to very hard. On bad roads you can have very soft car.... To set softness (hardness ;)) it takes only few seconds - just turning control knob at the top of shock
