chris2511 wrote:Since the Lanos has a lock on the boot, would the boot popper still work and lock the boot automatically when its closed or would you have to lock it with the key once closed.
The popper only opens the latch momentarily so you do not need the key to lock the boot again.
If the boot does physically pop up and open a little when you press the button to open it, you will have to install a small spring.
The spring will move the boot open just enough so that it will not lock again with the lid still shut.
If the boot does not open, it will lock again with it still closed.

Think of it this way:
You turn the knob on the front door on your house. If the door is not opened, and you let go of the handle, it will turn back by itself and the door will still be closed.

If you put that idea to the boot of your car, if you press the button of the boot popper and the bood lid does not open, it will latch closed again. Since I have not yet received or installed a boot popper on my car, I do not know if I need to add a spring to make it open a little so it does not latch closed again.

You need springs on lanos... I have made custom small spring just for that. It pops doors for about 2 inch...

As you sad, locking is no longer needed, and also centrall door locking system is no longer needed... I have used centrall door locking actuators, and covert door locks a little bit to make those actuators a door popers...

Only trunk actuator wasn't strong enough, so I added magnet poper to trunk lock...

All doors can be open inside with buttons, and outside remotly...

Still, I didn't remove door handles, or knobs, or how do you call it...

So your saying once you pop the boot then open the boot fully, once uve closed it you dont have to turn the key in the lock to actually lock the trunk?

I am saying that the lock mechinism only stays unlocked for the length of time you hold the button down.

If you hold the button down and the boot is not opened, it will lock.
If you hold the button down and the boot open, even 2cm (just enough to lear the latch), it can be opened.

You do not need the key to lock it agai as the lock mechinism returns to it's orrigional locked position when the solinoid does not have power applied (such as the button being pressed).

I got an email from the company where I ordered the alarm and locks.
They said they are back ordered 2 weeks.

That isn't fun.

mister_g ... Please do not confuse Chris when you talk about your shaved door handles. That is not what he is asking about and he seems to be having a difficult time understanding how the trunk release works.

Thanks! :)

I will have to find a spring (or springs) that will pop the trunk enough so it does not lock after it is released.
