grounding amp;where? *audio buzzing* help

Post by kinkyllama »

I'm having trouble ground an amp. Its sitting under my passanger front seat. I had it grounded into a stock point where something else is grounded (dunno what it is.. disappears under carpet) and I picked up the sound of the engine, then i tried to ground it where the seat bolts on and I still got the engines rev sound. Anyways, where around the passanger seat can i ground this thing?

Thanks,
Danny

ive found that one of the best places to grounda amp is where the seatbelt buckle bolts to the floor board, make sure you scrape off any paint or grease you might have to ensurea good connection

the engine noise can probly be fixed by upgradeing your batery cables from you negitive to engine block and negitive to body, a 4 guage from positive to alternator never hurts either to help fix any headlight dimming you might have

I tried putting the ground wire in like 15 different places (including where the seat belt bolts) and none work. So im guessing its something else  I know i've heard people saying you should run this wire next to this wire cuz it could cause fuzzyness/noise but most people say this isnt a worry.. im thinking thats my problem. What wires shouldnt be run togather? Currently all my wires are running next to each other except my ground wire which is seperate

i'm not sure why your having all that noise if you checked everything but have you tried ground it to your hand brake bolt? the one on the backside of the center console.

you do have a hand brake right? if you do there must be a bolt to tighten the wire or at least i would think there would be one.

Well yeah but i dont wanna rip appart my center consol. I've never done it before so it'd probably take awhile with all the hidden bolts. Plus i dont think its the ground wire cuz my subs used to be grounded to the chassis only it was much worst of a job.
