Well i cant find any shops to do mandrel bending and from what i hear if I find one it will cost an arm and leg anyways (~$500). I found a guy thats willing to do stailess exhaust work. Looks nearly as good as mandrel bends but maybe someone with experiance with this kinda thing can tell me otherwise. He wants $75 an hour and isnt sure how long it would take; he is only charging hourly for the work, nothing else...anyone have an idea of how long a full exhaust and lil down pipe for the wastegate would take? Im having a 3" exhaust from the turbo to the muffler done, 1.5" downpipe for the wastegate.. maybe just one bend and a straight pipe, and a straight through pipe that i can replace the CAT with when i go to the track. Also he is a local trustworthy auto-xer. Also anyone wanna recommend a muffler for turbo applications(i.e. something that'll hold up and not sound like crap)?
Anyways here is some pics of his work:
Here is materials price:
$40.00 6 inch flex section
$95.00 stainless u-bend
$65.00 90 deg bend
$72.00 tight 90 deg bend
$15.00 a foot for straight
$12.00 a foot for 1.5 diameter for WG dump
$30.00 90 deg bend 1.5 dia for WG dump
$15.00 per O2 bung and plug
*EDIT...All piping is 304 stainless .065 wall and does anyone know anything about a "slip style band"? Theres a pic of one just after the flex pipe is the 2nd picture, its the bronze band. The guy told me he could do a slip style band for the CAT and straight pipe; making it much easyier to switch between the two
