Hello everybody, I am knew to the forum and sorry if this topic has already been posted, I did search but couldnt find it. Basically this is what I am interested in purchasing: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ ... PCCB-26P-B And apparently it has been proven to increase performance of your car and save fuel. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about it, or if anyone has purchased it and thinks its a good buy etc. I mean if it does save fuel then surely its worth it ?
It's not likely to help.... remember that low emissions and good fuel economy are the #1 goal of OEM companies like GM.
To get to my point.... if the OEM's aren't using it then it's most likely going to hurt your car than help it.
People often get confused about swirling air..... swirl in the combustion chamber is what your after.... not swirl in the intake.
The least restrictive flow is a nice smooth Laminar flow where there is absolutely no swirling.
So....you want smooth flow in the intake to get the most air possible into the engine and at the very last moment as the air enters the cylinder head.... you want it to swirl and mix with the fuel to create better atomization.
If you buy this product it's most likely going to decrease power very slightly due to the fact that your lowering the Volumetric Efficency of the vehicle.
If we ever get a "technical knowledge base" on the forum I will be more than happy to explain all the pricipals behind flow and volumetric efficency

All these types of products are garbage as far as I'm concerned..... swirling is bad for the intake and good for the cylinder.
In my opinion the only "swirl" inducing product that would be any good would be one where the product installs between the intake and cylinder head.
It could be made out of phenolic material.... it would act as an insulator between the cylinder head and intake while inducing some swirl as the air enters into the cylinder head.
Where this would come in handy would be for cars that have enlarged ports (someone has ported their head)
Usually the stock cylinder heads are designed to keep the cost down while atomizing the fuel.... but when you port the head often the cylinder head stops functioning the way the OEM designed it..... therefore it would be a good idea to add a spacer that induces turbulance/swirl to help with lower RPM driveablitily.
Anyways.... I'm getting to complicated here... just thought I'd throw in my two cents on how it should be designed.

That will be the new Twinport from Opel. I think VW also has a similar system. A "helper valve" opens up to create swirl.
Alot of mind blowing stuff posted there! There has been alot of opinions on it, people say they bought it, noticed increased performance and such but no difference in fuel saving, how ever some people say that it does save fuel etc, others say it does nothing. The thing is Ecotek say that it works on most cars and you will notice a difference on different cars, as in some cars it will be good, and other cars does nothing. So still not sure wether to buy it, If u search google u get so many people saying it works, doesnt work. It would be nice if somone actually has got it on this forum who could give feed back on it. But im a total newb to this stuff and the above posts were too technical for my little brain But i can see you guys obviously know what your talking about
