Post by TxDAEWOOxT »

I was getting on the highway and my cars motor just stop(no sputter).I pulled off on the shoulder and had it in neutral.tryed to crank it over and you just hear the starter turn like it is not engaging on the flywheel.any ideas?

it might be your ECU is dead. it happened to me before and i had to get a new one. bad new is if it is that then if you try to get it through the dealership it'll cost you like $700. or you can find a used one fore cheap on ebay. i paid like $100 for mine from a local junkyard. oh and if it is the ECU you have to make sure you get the one that compatible with your car. mine had there different ones and i had to wait a week for another one to come in since the one they had was wrong. but i hope its something simple. good luck.

i was losing oil like a quart a week.i was told it was the rear main seal could have been leaking.my clutch never got soaked never slipped at least.so i dont know if it was the rear main.i took the cover off of the flywheel and it would spray a little mist of oil while the car was running.does it sound like that main seal could have finally gave out and the motor locked?

i'd rather hope its the ECU than the timing belt. DON'T try to start it again b/c if it is the belt then your making it worse.

got the hookup at the machine shop didnt charge for the port and polish or the valve work. i think they cut the valve 2 more times.i had to pay for the head to get straightened and flattened.it happened at the worst time.there were no parts in town or at least from the factory.had to wait like 3 weeks for the valves.i know now to change my timing belt every 50-55,000 dont let it get above 60 or you will pay!

I got my job done for only $450

Head rebuild
Install: 16 valves, all set of gaskets, oil and filter changed and coolant flush

:)

I got the car out in less than a month
