amplifier problems (help needed)

Post by ooobiserooo »

Hello, :( :( :(

I installed HUMMER amp i with all the wires for connecting the rear speakers!

Power: i used "house grounding wire" (tested whit a power tester)
Ground: i used "house grounding wire" (surface clean and tight connected)
Speakers: gold cables
Remote: cca 2mm wire conected to the Radio ignition wire "red one on the ISO connector"
( i think that the problem is whit the remote becouse i had that amp in my prev. car and i worked perfect)

The lamp on amp for ON is not working, maybe its dead but i still have no sound! and the "security switch" is not burned.

Anyone  ??

remote on should not be connected to the ignition cable. the ignition wire supplies 12V while the remote on(rem) on the amp requires just a very small ampage. get the wireing diagram for your car and find the wire that supplies this ampage(usually the power antenna lead from the back of the radio) . (pulling this out of my ass) i think it is a blue wire depening on model. hopefully the amp is not damaged.
got drift?

Verify the remote. Connect them to power antenna on the radio. And check the ground cable ohm. with the power tester verify the resistance of this cable.(ground)

i would say just to be on the safe side, upgrade the ground cable and run it to somewhere in the rear of the car and make sure that it has a nice low gauge cable to ensure proper grounding with very little resistance.

PM mister_g.... he's also in Zagreb.... and he's an electronics guy.

I'd offer you advice... but to be honest... your description of the parts you used scares me.

I solved the problem! all was ok! i hide the ground cabel but SOMEHOW it was not conected good!

AND ITS TRUE! IF U PUT REMOTE TO IGNITION WIRE THE AMP STAYS RUNNING WHEN U TAKE THE KEY OUT! i conected it to batery + and now all works well!!!!

ya the remote should only be connected to the deck and the appropriate place on the amp, otherwise the amp will drain your batterey when your car is off.
