Thermostat question
My friend and I are going to replace my timing belt, tensioner, and pump, and i was wondering if i should replace the thermostat while i was at it... He said it wouldn't be a bad idea just to get a new one regardless and do it while we're doing everything else... just wanted your opinions on the longitivity of the OEM thermostats on daewoos...

a woo that is a work in progress
i would say to be on the safe side yes. or just get another one anyways but have it in the trunk or something with the tools for it just in case it does go out one day. trust me man you don't wanna have it go out without a spare. (maybe i should listen to my own words since mine broke before...... nah.....
) actually i will be getting another one soon too.

its a good idea to have one with you as a spare... replacing it right now is not 'cause the thing is either working or broken so since the one you have is still working then their is no need to replace it, just get a new one and keep it in the car in case the one you have blows.

lets get this sorted out:
the 1.6 Lanos engine comes with a plastic housing in USA
the 1.6 Lanos engine comes with a metal housing in europ
the 1.6 Nubira comes with metal housing (at least in Egypt)
the 2.0 Nubira/Leganza comes with metal housing.
i think the 1.6 lanos plastic housing is interchangable with the 1.6 Nubira one... after all both engines are the same with just different engine mount setup.

most probably it won't fit... both parts are too different in shape as well as the direction of the outlet pipe, also the port for the TB heater doesn't exist on the 2.0 housing.
