Timing belt replacement list?

no... just the belts are not fine at all, if the tensioner or one of the idling pulleys fail it will be as bad as a broken timing belt... maybe even worse if the broken pully flyed off its place and damaged something else (PWS pipes, alternator belt,...).DaewoLeganza wrote:just the belts fine... the only problems that the Daewoos have covers on the cam gears so u have to put the jack under the motor then take off the motor mount (maybe) to remove the timing belt cover then just take it off from there
prices = belt + labor = could be 150 or more
the only part you can affprd to just check and replace at other time is the water pump... if it is not leaking and the labour cost to replace it later is not that drastic then you can keep the one you got for the time beeing.
you are right about the engine mount part... you got to support the engine, remove the aluminum pillar to be able to remove/install the timing belt.

if you are replacing your pulley every other belt replacement, then i shouldnt necessarilly have to replace mine right now right?
the only reason i am is because the belt itself is 5 years now, and i dont need it to break because of age. the car though only has 32,000 miles on it.
I feel i should be safe only replacing the belt this time around. next change i will do pulley as well.
is there another timing belt that would be better to buy than oem?

just a tip if you don't want to replace the rollers and tensioners at any point of time, take them off and spin them really fast with your hand and listen to them... if they grind or feel heavy when spun then they are aboutr to die and better to reolace tem, if they spin freely and sounless then they are OK... for how long?? no one can tell.

Removing crankshaft pulley
any tips on removing the crankShaft pulley, I can't remove the crankshaft bolt, I can not Stop it from spinning and I broke the crank position sensor gear trying to ho1d it in place
here is a tip that my mechanic use but i am not responsible for any damages if you did that wrong.
get a wrench that is 90 degrees bent and put it firmly on the crank pully bolt where the rest of the wrench's arm is as close as it can be to the suspension's control arm.
with every body away of the car, crank the engine just a tad till the wrench hits the control arm... this will losen the bolt for sure but dont keep cranking the engine or you will hurt others or your car... just a little spin to loosen the bolt then resume your work with your hands.
again i say i am not responsble for any injuries or damadges resulting from the use of this method.

Well, alternatively you can do the following (2nd person required):
- apply 1st gear and have assistant sit in the car and press on the brakes
- while above is being done, undo the crank pulley bolt
Option 2:
Use a long ratchet and breaker bar. Position the ratchet at 4:30 o'clock position and secure the other end against the ground. Disconnect the DIS plug and give the motor a very short crank. This will as well loosen the bolt.

360 will the brake method work on an automatic?
another question, the crank turns very easily even though the cam gears dont turn. what are the chances that the valve are bent?
