good.... now you can drive it up to me and sell it to me :P

Glad to hear you got the warranty situation sorted out.... it seems like most of the USA owners are getting shafted by their local dealerships

few weeks!!!!! i'd give them a week and that would be the most. well maybe two weeks i forgot about the bent valves and all. but thats still a long time for an experienced mechanic to pull off a head and replace the timing belt. hell one person could do it in two days if they wanted to. i can understand that other cars are there too but damn. thats not even a definate time period so it can take a month if they wanted. sorry i'm just ranting on but i hate it when they do stupid crap like that.

3 week??? we swapped a new engine in 4 days... actually 3 days as the first day we just arranged for the project and paid a downpayment... nothing was actually done.

those guys are taking waaaaay to much time, on the other hand it is better to take their time and do it right rather than rushing them and end up with a faulty engine again.

but there is a difference between takin your time to do it right and just being lazy.

indeed and i detect lots of lazyness in the time frame given here... i bet my mechanic can do that in 2 working days if not less.

i dont know about how your dealership is but with mine they can ojnly make daewoo orders on tuesdays and it takes 7 days for the parts to get there, if they dont have everything thenb they have to wait, it took em like 3 weeks to get my first trans rebuilt (only for it to not be correct)

oh... then thats why the waist of time, friggin shipping overseas, good thing we got a daewoo factory in the country.

i don't want to make you feel bad but daewoo spare parts are more convenient here than groceries so practically we can buy the stuff needed in 1 hour assuming the streets are crowded.

Hmmm.... a few weeks without a car vs a car with a blown engine.... I think a couple weeks is reasonable considering they are a GM dealership and they have to get all the parts from the Daewoo warehouse.

They probably have a pile of paperwork to do before they can release the parts to the GM dealership.... who knows.... these days you never know what kind of hoops they have to jump through to fix Daewoo vehicles.
