Anyways, I have the amp all hooked up... just need to connect the speakers to it. This is where the problem is.. which wires are the componet wires? I have NO idea.. all the wires go into the same place
If you made it 1.3 instead of 1.5 simply fill the back with some cotton fibre fill like they use in pillows.... you can get it at a local fabric store.... it makes the box seem larger... the physics behind it are rather complex... but the fibre fill stores energy.
Don't leave it in there loose..... glue it to the back and or throw in a couple of staples (not too many)
If this amp is only running your front 6.5" speakers..... then they just connect to the speaker outputs of the amp.
Oh.... about your question about "high level inputs" that is for guys who have cheap decks that don't have pre-outs (patch cord inputs)
Basicly you can take a wire that is meant to go to a speaker and attach it to your amplifier.
This is a really bad setup because you get awfull sound..... the amplifer will amplify all the distortion the head units tiny little amplifier puts out.
So.... in my books.... never ever use high level inputs.
You should draw out a diagram of your system and I will see what I can find for problems.
I'm not trying to offend you or anything but calling your system "amazing" can be somewhat insulting to people who run competition stereo equipment..... I wouldn't consider SPL audio products to be top of the line in any way.
Most of my stuff it Japanese pro audio equipment made by Sansui...... most people look at me funny when I say Sansui.... but the high end stuff is really good.
One time my buddy (who was a manager at a local car audio store ) and I hooked up four huge 15" Dr. Crankenstein Competition subs to my big Sansui amp. (each box was around 15 cubic feet )
With the head unit at 25 percent volume things on the other side of the show room started to rattle and fall off the glass shelves. (roughly 400Wrms power into the subs)
By the time we hit 50 percent people started coming in and yelling at us to shut it off.... I got dizzy due to an imbalance from the sound pressure.
I'm guessing we hit somewhere around 150db inside the store.... it was crazy..... I've only heard that kind of SPL at IASCA events.
My buddy laughed at everyone and called them pussies....he wanted to see if we could break the glass shelving unit.... but I told him I was worried about the amp (which wasn't true... but it got him to stop the madness )
