The only wires that dont go with all the other wires is a blue wire (which is the REM), and one red wire with a white strip.

This might be a stupid question.. but the componets do hook up to the h/u, right?

If you made it 1.3 instead of 1.5 simply fill the back with some cotton fibre fill like they use in pillows.... you can get it at a local fabric store.... it makes the box seem larger... the physics behind it are rather complex... but the fibre fill stores energy.

Don't leave it in there loose..... glue it to the back and or throw in a couple of staples (not too many)

If this amp is only running your front 6.5" speakers..... then they just connect to the speaker outputs of the amp.

Oh.... about your question about "high level inputs" that is for guys who have cheap decks that don't have pre-outs (patch cord inputs)

Basicly you can take a wire that is meant to go to a speaker and attach it to your amplifier.

This is a really bad setup because you get awfull sound..... the amplifer will amplify all the distortion the head units tiny little amplifier puts out.

So.... in my books.... never ever use high level inputs.

You should draw out a diagram of your system and I will see what I can find for problems.

I'm not trying to offend you or anything but calling your system "amazing" can be somewhat insulting to people who run competition stereo equipment..... I wouldn't consider SPL audio products to be top of the line in any way.

Most of my stuff it Japanese pro audio equipment made by Sansui...... most people look at me funny when I say Sansui.... but the high end stuff is really good.

One time my buddy (who was a manager at a local car audio store ) and I hooked up four huge 15" Dr. Crankenstein Competition subs to my big Sansui amp. (each box was around 15 cubic feet )

With the head unit at 25 percent volume things on the other side of the show room started to rattle and fall off the glass shelves. (roughly 400Wrms power into the subs)

By the time we hit 50 percent people started coming in and yelling at us to shut it off.... I got dizzy due to an imbalance from the sound pressure.

I'm guessing we hit somewhere around 150db inside the store.... it was crazy..... I've only heard that kind of SPL at IASCA events.

My buddy laughed at everyone and called them pussies....he wanted to see if we could break the glass shelving unit.... but I told him I was worried about the amp (which wasn't true... but it got him to stop the madness )

I'll reply/read the rest later.. im about to go out once im done with this.

I know.. i cant find the wires for the componets... and rather not take apart the doors to get to them

My stuff is micky mouse compared to some of the guys I used to hang out with.

One guy had a completely fibre optic setup (all pro Alpine stuff from the early nineties).... the deck sent digital data directly to a sound processing unit in the trunk of the car.... this unit took the data and created an ultra clean analog signal which was fed to a series of monster amplifiers.

He probably spent close to $50,000 on his setup.... it was crazy.

Everything was sealed so tight in his 92 Honda Civic Sedan that you could see the panels flex during bass notes.... and it didn't rattle.... not even the tinyest sound..... he probably spent $2000 on sound deadening material alone.

He had four 8" Alpine subs (rated for 150Wrms) in a ported box and then they used a digital crossover to cut down the signal over 30hz.

This might sound like a weird thing to do.... but it made the response completely flat from 30hz to 200hz.... then he pushed each sub with 400Wrms to bring the sound level up to where it would normally be at 150Wrms.

That.... was by far.... the best sounding system I have ever heard in my life..... and I've sat in a pile of IASCA show cars

The guy didn't compete in anything.... it was just for his own pleasure.

The digital processing of this optical unit was unbeliveable.... he put on a rolling stones song and he could move mick jaggers voice around.... up down left right... behind us.... it was unbelievable.

Anyways..... getting off topic.

Bump.. i think you missed this.

I dont think the speakers wires would be with all the others (as its hard to crack open and put them all back togather) since my speakers were installed seperatly from my deck

Ya.... I'm confused about the problem....did someone wire all the door speakers together???

I don't really understand the issue..... and the door takes about 1 minute to remove.

I had an audio shop install the door speakers. Anyways the wires are a dark green and a lighter green (tweater). But then behind the h/u there is only one dark green and nothing else.

Well best buy wants 35-45bucks just to hook up the front speakers to the amp.

The problem is i cant find the wires for the door speakers. I took off the doors and the tweakers are a light green wire and the speaker is a grey wire with a red line. The only wire related to this is one grey wire with red line...
