c20xe (20xej) 2.0 16V from kadett GSI 16V with NA 156bhp...
It have same block and mounts as c20get, but different had. c20let is c20xe 2.0 16V with turbo and 200bhp. Again same mounts...
c20xe was in kaddet e/astra mk2 gsi 16V, calibra, vectra mk1 gt. c20let was in calibra, vectra a, cavalier, etc...
You will need engine mount for kadett e/astra mk2 for 2.0 engine. It's the same mount on all 2.0 engines for kadett e, and it fits on lanos engine bay perfectly!
The only problem is a/c compressor and power steering (hydraulic) pump. You have only one place on mount (for pump or klima). So you have to choose what would you loose. Power steering (assested steering) or A/C...
Alternative is this. Place A/C compressor on that mount.
Buy electro-hydraulic power steering pump from astra-g/safira and place it in engine bay...
This is what I'm goung to do with my lanos. I have bought c20xe (2.0 16V 150bhp from calibra). I have bought mount for kadett e 2.0, wich fitts perfect on my car, and have bought electro-hidraulic power steering pump for astra-g... For now, it have cost me $500. Now I have to rip the whole engine apart, change everythig that is warn out (next about $1000) and will get 2.0 16V NA with cca 180bhp in my lanos sport...

No No No..... I'm not annoyed at you in any way.... I'm annoyed at the other guys for telling you the 2.0L needs engine mount changes and the best swap is another 1.6L.TxDAEWOOxT wrote:sorry dude im just a new retard i have no idea what the hell the c20 or the c7589hbnerhn62y25j motor is i was just tring to get some info on my car. didnt mean to piss you off or make you waste your time on telling me(newbie)what the hell i can do to my car. sorry o masterfull daewoo god please dont get pissed.just needed some info. i guess im the dumbass that didnt dig through all 2000 pages of the forum
This is just plain misinformation.... the 2.0L 16V they are talking about is a U20SED or T20SED engine not a "C20" series as you posted in the first post.
A C20 based engine is a C20XE (16V non turbo), C20LET (16V Turbo) or a C20GET (8V Turbo )
Sure there are a billion others but these are the only C20 series motors worth doing anything with.
The older 2.0L 8V turbo engine is ten times better than the 1.6L and it allready has the Lanos style front engine mount so there are zero changes required.... the power steering and A/C are allready positioned in places where they won't interfere.
There are piles of upgrades for it including ECU upgrades to allow for more boost and or 3bar map sensors.... mostly due to J-Body (sunbird,Grand Am ) tuners... many of whom have pushed this engine into the 300+hp range without changing anything internally with the exception of a full ARP stud/bolt conversion.
The engine is cheap, but rarely found with a decent T25 turbo.... so a new or rebuilt T25, T28 or GT28RS is typically required.
Anyways...... sorry if you got the wrong impression that I was annoyed at you..... I've been talking with Efrain (admistrator) about changing the forum slightly so that technical articles can be easily found.
One such article will be what engine fits in which car and all the modifications required to do the swap.
Then..... when someone new like yourself comes upon the board the senior members can simply direct you to the technical forum area on this subject.
This will give you a better idea of what can be done and how hard it is.

You have emissions inspections in Texas?
I figured you'd be like us up here Alberta...Canada...Oil Capital of Canada. (no mechanical or emissions testing)
Well..... the standard system from the Sunbird is OBD I .... so I suppose the C20GET is out of the question unless you spent a fair bit of time converting it over to the newer OBD II management system.
It's doable if you get the right year of C20GET but it would take quite a while and it's not something a novice would want to attempt.
That's too bad.... even the stock 165hp and 175lbft would make that car awesome.
If you have to worry about inspection..... you might have to go with another 1.6L

yeah thats what im am looking at a used 1.6 it sucks but i need to pass an inspection or move to canada
i talked to some guys in town with the motor they said they had a 1.6 with 45000 on it for $750 does that sound right? they say i need to do the timing belt and water pump when i get my motor installed.are there any internals or parts that you would suggest putting on the motor.i have cai,1.25 eibach pro kit,got head work done when the timing belt tore the head off my car at 63000(dont know if it is salvagable),2 1/4 catback w/ pro 1 muffler. i was looking into a header or underdrive pully any suggestions.
