Hello and thanks

Post by anikan »

Just wanted to drop a quick hello and thanks, particularly for those who submit the howto's.

There isnt a lot out there re Lanos', specially in Australia, but coming here and reading through all the suggestions has been great for someone like me - whose never been interested in cars before.

Ripped out the resonator this afternoon, and am impressed with the difference. Am going to try my hand at a ram from the fog lamp cover over the weekend - which will be fun seeing as I have never worked on cars before.

Oh, I drive a 2001 Yellow Sport, with Thrustmaster twin exhaust as the only significant mod so far.

Would be interested in your guys suggestions on how to get more out of 1st and 2nd gear. I like the way mine goes once I get past 40km per hour, just would like to know ways I can get it to 40 quicker...

Quick...

Post by anikan »

Quick responses!! I didnt really think tires would make that much of a difference at this stage, as they aint spinning, so grip shouldnt be a factor, and it aint like they are spring walls like dragsters!!

Sparks and wires is something Ive heard before - does it make that much of a difference?? Why? Why are some sparks and wires good vs others? Any recommendations on which ones are the best?

(Sorry - novice, and on holidays, so want to learn)

better spark plugs deleiver better spark to combust air/fuel mixture as fast and as effective as possible.

better spark plug wires help conduct all the electric power generated by the coil pack (due to its low resestance) and thus aiding in the gemeration of a better spark.

basicly the feedback from the Woo community recommends the V grooved NGK spark plugs, Denso spark plugs and BOSCH super 4 spark plugs in this particular order... personally ihave tried all of them and i say the NGK is the best and the other two are indifferent but thats only me.

as for sperk plug wires; get some 8.0mm wires from magnicor... their are bigger diameter wires but they are a waste of money as our coil packs doesn't generate that much power to need more than 8.0mm wires.

BTW what engine do you have on your ride??
