Day after day I see a bad situation about daewoo

firstly at Taxi movie the american one.I heared that ( I cant touch a DAEWOO with my hands).the car was a Lanos & looks brand new .

I downloaded some Top Gear clips from the Net & I found they make fun of daewoos as they are a THNG!

in a clip they wanted to name the badest car of the year.& it was DAEWOO LANOS! shit :twisted:

in another one they made a crash tests of the new Mgane.& they made a poll about the cars.the audience asking about thier cars and top gear team reply about this car.somebody asked about Daewoo Nexia.and again they started to laugh .

why Daewoo have this bad impression?. in here (egypt0 daewoo is a name to respect & its cars known as the car you dont need to go a show room to see . because the streets are the biggest show room !!!

another point . the new chevs are daewoos with the same engines, body, electronics & all things. why the world accept them and reject woos??

Yea when i watched that movie i was like wtf. And for a week after i got jokes from my friends... And also i heard the daewoo Nubiras have the same motor and interior as a older Mazda Protage and yet some show on the Speed channel said it had a ugly interior and that it was lacking on power. I think its just cause its not the most popular car out there they think its bad.

most people just say well its a Daewoo, they know nothing of them or their quality, the only problems ive had in a year and a half were my fault, i personally think they are great cars, i want another!

I have an aveo, and some people used to make fun of it because its not too quick, and some people just dont like the looks. But now that gas is around 2.30, used to be over 3.00 USD....they arent laughing anymore. When I first bought it, I had big hopes to make it fast, but I quickly decided just making it a daily driver(to school and back on weekends, over 300 mile round trip)...it is a stable and reliable car so far. People will joke any car that isnt really fast, you see people joke honda's all the time, but do you ever see anyone joke a corvette? Once I got out of high school, I found making your car fast by modifying it isnt really that important, in my college its more about looks than speed, but its all good, as long as you like the car...

Well, I will be honest, I too made fun of daewoos, and their drivers. It was all in ignorance though. Even though I have personally only put 1000+ miles on my car since i bought it 3 weeks ago, I still think it's an amazing vehicle for the money. I really couldnt get more for my money in this case. Unless it was free of course.

I have since read all the reviews, both published, and on websites like this one and one thing i have concluded is that these vehicles dont have many problems. Yeah, if you wait too long to replace the timing belt you'll grenade the engine, but over all, the build quality is exceptional.

I was also looking at 626's before i purchased my car, and those have a looooooong list of problems. And you still cant find those priced better than my leganza.

Anyhting can be made fast, but very few can give you their worth as an investment.

I would be kicking someones ass. Friend or not. I don't get why people hate Daewoos. Actully I think the Lanos hatch has better styling than any civic hatch. yeah the civic has a better powertrain. But the Lanos looks better

dude whey hate daewoos because its a daewoo, there is no reason for the woo hatred other than the simple "its a daewoo" i just ignore it, especially cause its always some idiot that drives an S10 extreme or a chrysler mini van or some other pos, i jus learned to live with it!

my daewoo has earned alot of respect, because when i went to school nobody would thrash a car harder then me, and no other car had gone faster. Plus i had never had any problems (i have now though). A good example is that no body could pull anything faster then 80k down a street near school, but i could slide into the street and manage 100km any day of the week, with passengers. I have on tape me doing 210km on the freeway yet no one else has ventured past 150-160. I think alot of the respect my car has is down to the driver, but thats how i was bought up, and to date im doing better then most in that i have never had an accident, unlike most people in my grade who have had atleast 1 significant acco

I find most people that have bad things to say about Daewoos have never owned one, have never driven one, have never known anybody that owned one or driven one either. So where do they get their information from? It's the fact that the brand is relatively new and from Korea, then it is automatically assumed that it is a poorly built car. Efrain and a few of the other guys will recall when we just started up there was a dude on here cussing us and mking fun of us. His car of choice?A VW Golf VR6. He finally appologised for his stupidity when we made him realise that he was doing the same thing we were doing. Just trying to be different from the masses. He turned out to hate Honda even more than I do! LOL. If GM will take it's fingers out its a$$ and let Daewoo blossom then Daewoo will eventually get the respect that Hyundai now enjoys (readers will be keen to note that the Sonata recently beat the Camry in a 4-car shoot-out in Car&Driver). I have said it before that GM control was the WORST thing to happen to Daewoo in Jamaica and now I am seeing this played out on the world market too.
